Does a vegetarian diet help shrink muscle?

I am a 20st well toned gym trainer, but, i want to shrink in size and i've heard that a vegetarian diet will help with this matter, can anyone confirm?Does a vegetarian diet help shrink muscle?
Muscles are built from protein.

A vegetarian diet is quite often significantly lower in protein and therefore could cause muscles to atrophy (get smaller) purely because the diet does not contain the building blocks of muscle in large enough quantities to maintain a large physique.

Having said that IF you goal was opposite, ie you wanted to become a vegetarian but wanted to continue building muscle, it would be very easy to do. As a vegetarian you could still continue taking a whey protein supplement, still eat eggs and be able to work your meals around good quality vegetarian proteins.

So, simple answer: Yes it could reduce muscle size but it certainly does not have to.
If your a gym trainer you should know the answer to that, also if your 20stone and toned you need to stop taking steroids.Does a vegetarian diet help shrink muscle?
it won't hurt muscle will shrink of it's own accord of course beware fat gain though to combat that swim the perfect body tone exercise
we vegetarians usually are quite small and lack muscle because they don't eat meat which helps you gain muscle. You should try it out and see, but i don't know if it will work fo sureDoes a vegetarian diet help shrink muscle?
lack of protein will increase muscle loss why do you want to lose muscle why not fat, unless your 20st and 8% bodyfat i would lose fat
A vegan diet is much better, You will tone up nicely.
