How does one convert to vegetarian diet?

I've made the decision that I've had my last steak, last burger, last chicken, and last pork product, etc. My question is, how do you convert? How does one convert to vegetarian diet?
One does some research first - nutrition, recipes, etc. - otherwise one may not remain very healthy for very long, and soon go back to one's old ways (because it didn't work out for one).

Everyone does it differently. Some go the "cold turkey" way (I did it overnight ... or over-day - it's a very long time ago, so I can't be sure which - it takes a lot of "won't-power" to do it this way, which I luckily have oodles of), some swear by the "gradual" method (eliminating one type of animal flesh at a time, or reducing the number of times they eat it per week till it's down to none), some opt for the "analogs" approach (lots of heavily processed and expensive "faux-flesh" products, such as Gardein, Quorn, Linda McCartney, Boca, Morningstar Farm, Amy's, etc.), and there are probably other ways of doing it besides those.
Becoming a vegetarian is a really big commitment but with the right diet it's completley worth it. It's extremely healthy. Making the switch is easy, you just have to slowly stop eating meats. First start out by eating a bit of meat, just a little bit less then you used to eat. Then start adding other forms of protein into your meals, for example mix a little bit of tofu or beans in with your food. Do this for about a week or two taking out more meat and adding more vegetarian substitutes. Peta.com is a really good site for looking up vegetarian substitues and recipes. Soon you'll be eating complegley vegan! How does one convert to vegetarian diet?
Meat substitutes are key. When I ate meat, I used to love a good burger. And unfortunately, I still craved fast-food burgers after I made the switch, particularly the Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl's Jr. To satisfy my craving, I cooked up some veggie bacon on the stove, baked a few onion rings, sauteed a veggie burger and applied a cheese slice, and piled it onto a bun with BBQ sauce. Totally satisfied my craving. Sometimes you just need to be creative with your substitutions.
By not eating meat. There are some great vegetarian meat substitutes. My favorite brand is Gardein. They make burgers, chicken nuggets, ribs, etc. And they're all vegan. Morning star, Amy's, and Boca products are vegetarian as well. How does one convert to vegetarian diet?
Converting is a lot harder than most of these people are making it out to be.

If meat was a big part of your diet, you're going to have a very very hard time.
It sounds like you've already converted. What exactly do you need help with? Are you afraid you won't stick with it?
Just do it! :)
slowly stop eating meat until u eat none at all idk. good luck.
