Which vitamin/mineral is most lacking from a typical vegetarian diet?

What should I be looking out for?Which vitamin/mineral is most lacking from a typical vegetarian diet?
If you're vegan, you should take a vegan vit B12 supplement a couple times a week. Other than this, as long as you eat a healthy %26amp; varied veg diet you should be fine.

I've *heard* that it's difficult to get iron %26amp; calcium if you're veg, but every time I have a nutritional analysis of my diet this hasn't shown up as a concern.
b12 is in dairy and eggs so unless your vegen you don't have to worrie, but the iron in plants is less easily absorbed than that in meat so you may want to take an iron suppliment and a vit c (vit c helps the body absorb iron)Which vitamin/mineral is most lacking from a typical vegetarian diet?
B12 has been mentioned alot. But to be sure take a multi-vit, prenatal even if you're not pregnant. Also, for calcium, take a good quality supplement that contains vitamin D and magnesium.
I think none....i am a vegetarian and i do not have any problem regarding lacking of vitamins/minerals or any essential component...Which vitamin/mineral is most lacking from a typical vegetarian diet?
Typical vegetarian diet may lack in Omega 3 mineral which comes from fish. However, some vegetables may include this mineral (not sure which).
I think it's B12. And I take "spirulina" supplement.
B12 is something you would normally get from meat - vegs normally would get a non-animal version of this as a supplement vitamin. I think it actually comes from soil, but don't quote me on it. You might need to google it on some health sites.

Umm... important things that some people don't think about when they turn veg are iron %26amp; protein. You can get iron from dark green veg (peas, broccoli, spinach) and from mushrooms. You can get protein from nuts, lentils, beans %26amp; other legumes as well as tofu. The reason I mention this stuf is because some people are really fussy eaters and if this stuff isn't included in their veg diet, they'll get sick!
