Here is one example of how to prepare a healthy, balanced menu for an entire day.

Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: 10 to 30 minutes per meal.

Here's How:

Breakfast: one cup strawberries, one-half cup low fat cottage cheese with one tablespoon of sunflower seeds. One slice of whole grain toast.

Midmorning: one small apple, eight walnuts, two ounces lean sliced chicken breast.

Lunch: three cups salad consisting of dark green lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower and tomatoes with two teaspoons of walnut oil, two ounce organic beef patty served on a whole grain roll.

Mid afternoon: six ounces of tofu, one and one-half cups carrot sticks, one tablespoon of pumpkin seeds.

Dinner: one-half cup whole wheat spaghetti with one-forth cup organic marinara sauce and two ounces ground turkey. Two cups cooked green vegetables such as asparagus, spinach or broccoli drizzled with two teaspoons flax oil.

Evening Snack: six whole grain crackers with one ounce sliced cheese and one small apple.

Tips:

Drink at least six to eight glasses of water per day.

Choose whole grain breads and cereals.
You should try to find foods that are like some of your favriote foods just lower in fat and caliroes.I need a vegetarian diet, or a healthy overall diet, any suggestions?
Yes, skip the vegetarian diet...they all look gaunt and sickly.

Leave out: Fast food, fried food, soda, sweets other than fruit, too much cheap white bread, salt, too many preservatives.

Stick with raw food, lightly cooked other foods. Use olive oil when you can, rather than veg oil.

Keep away from trans fats....always. Like margarine, the cheap stick of death!

Eat salmon and other fish whenever you can.

Eat whole grain cereal as breakfast and snacks...like Cheerios.
The easitest substitute for meat for a vege is mushrroms. It has the taste and quality of meat. and u can flavore it any way you wantI need a vegetarian diet, or a healthy overall diet, any suggestions?
Go to nutritiondata.com

If you put into "the pantry" what you normally eat, it will give you healthier suggestions. It also has calculators so that you will know what vitamins and stuff you may be missing out on. It is pretty easy to find your way around the site. It also has a way to figure out nutrition info for homemade recipes.
Unless you are a vegetarian, try just meat

and vegetables. You will be healthy.

Do not eat anything that is white!

Rice, flour, sugar, pasta, milk.

All that stuff is loaded with carbs

and will make you sick.

If you are a vegan, just go to the

menus and select something that

sounds like it would be good.

Maybe go to a vegan restaurant and try it first.

Good luck.
Don't eat a lot of red meat. It takes too long for your body to digest. Drink more water, watch the fried foods and watch what you eat. Don't deny that ocassional sweet just eat in moderation.
Eating a balanced healthy diet is important. You could still eat a little meat but a balanced vegetarian diet is good.

Firstly I would advocate that you Read, read, read. Research everything into healthy eating. Surf the web and look at the ideas and sugestions.

I was a over weight unhappy - at risk of diabetes. i had a poor diet. I ate pasta - fettuni carbanara, spaghetti with meat sauce. Huge servings I ate chips and fried dim sims. Then I changed my diet. I actually had to research. I actually dont like meat but I just got into a rut. I use to eat vegetarian meals when i was younger. So I started a vegetarian diet and feel great.

My investment was a book called Meals without meat by Alison Holst and Simon Holst. This is a best selling vegetarian book. My second investment was Kooking with Kurma. Kurma Dasa has travelled the world learning how to prepare a stunning variety of vegetarian dishes. He shares them here in Cooking with Kurma - an exciting journey of culinary exploration, and an adventure into new lands of international culture, taste and nutrition. Whether preparing a quick lunch or a five-course dinner, Cooking With Kurma will serve you well. Full of enticing soups, breads, salads, drinks, desserts and main courses, it is a vegetarian's delight!

Now look up web sites vegan and vegetarian. Go to the Vegetarian society and read what they have to say and their recipes are great. Good luck.
