My skin is becoming pale after 5 days of a vegetarian diet?

I've decided to give vegetarianism a shot because I find the conditions of farm animals to be terrible, and I don't eat a lot of meat anyway. After a few days with no meat I realized that my skin was becoming slightly pale. I don't feel sick at all, in fact I feel healthier, but do any of you know the reasons and the solution to this problem? Thanks in advance. My skin is becoming pale after 5 days of a vegetarian diet?
well this has nothing to do with your diet... i think you are just being overworried... ive been a veggie for ages and it has had no affect on me... mind you it affects people in different ways.... give it a few more days and see if it gets worse... well done though you chose wright eating animals is bad!! WELL DONE welcome to the most exlusive club ever lol

you are not getting enough protein. You have to find substitutes for the protein you are taking away. I suggest rice, beans, and nuts. It may sound hard to get these 3 but i have them every day. nuts = peanut butter. beans = chickpeas you can put them in your salad. Also soy protein in fake meats like tofu and tempeh. You must also be sure you are getting enough vegetables. I have been a vegetarian for a little over 1 year. it is soo difficult in the beginning but it becomes natural. You just have to think about the poor animals to get through the tough times and then it will come easy for you. =}My skin is becoming pale after 5 days of a vegetarian diet?
"My skin is becoming pale after 5 days of a vegetarian diet"........

Maybe you need your eyes tested or maybe you are just having us on! Or maybe you should just get off the computer and get out into the sun more!

It is absolutely impossible to become deficient in anything in 5 days.

Eat at least five servings of fresh raw fruits and fresh raw vegetables everyday and you will be fine

.
lack of meat in your diet can make your weak in the start and paler. im trying to become a vegeterian and this is day 2 and already its hard for me. im becoming weak and everything, try drinking more water and eating more fruits, that should help a bit and replace the nutrician loss from the lack of meat.My skin is becoming pale after 5 days of a vegetarian diet?
if your skin is pale maybe you should get some sun

if your skin is dull like allmost a grayish color then sart by drinking atleast 12 glasses of water a day

and cut back on soda drinking or other carbonated beverages

this has nuthing to do with vegetarianism

drink orange juice or have some type of vitamin c with meals to help absorb iron. drink soymilk with b12, and maybe a b12 supplement. get enough folic acid with foods like lentis, pinto beans, chickpeas
Eat more carrots and red vegetables like beets, radishes, Rhubarb, pomegranates, apples, red bell peppers, strawberries.
5 days? Not from your diet. Go see a Dr.
One thing to look out for if you have a vegetarian or vegan diet is this, are you getting enough iron and B12? These two vitamins are essential and a deficiency in these can lead to anaemia. Ladies in particular need to make sure they get enough iron as we are more susceptible to an iron deficiency due to menstruation (sorry guys). Signs of iron deficiency anemia include:

weakness

fatigue

general malaise

pale skin colour/pallour

Shortness of breath on exertion (in severe anemia)

A deficiency of vitamin B12 is called pernicious anemia, the symptoms are slightly different from iron deficiency anemia and include the following:

weakness,

an abnormally rapid heartbeat (tachycardia),

shortness of breath,

chest pains,

an upset stomach including diarrhea,

difficulty walking,

numbness and tingling in the extremities,

lack of color (pallor) in the lips, gum, and tongue,

depression.

Pernicious anemia may cause inflammation of the tongue (glossitis). It is also associated with premature greying, blue eyes, vitiligo, and blood group A.It is also associated with unpredictable periods of fatigue and an inability to concentrate. Irreversible Central Nervous System (CNS) damage may have occurred prior to treatment. Scissors gait can appear as a late sign of unchecked anemia.

Some sufferers also report mouth ulcers, joint pain and tinnitus as associated with the onset of pernicious anemia.

I鈥檝e been diagnosed with aneamia before and it鈥檚 not fun! However taking some vitamin pills with vitamin C combined (vitamin C helps your body to absorb iron) and eating some yummy fresh broccoli and spinach and some cereal fortified with iron and B12 pepped me right up!! These days though whenever get a test my iron and B12 levels are fine. I think it鈥檚 because I eat a much healthier and more varied diet nowadays as well as popping the occassional multi vitamin.

the site above is very useful , i wish i had it when i became a vegetarian
