will being a vegetarian help me drop a couple of pounds. vegetarians rock but i love fish. my mom makes the fish. anyways how will not eating meat help me loose wieght. ill be eating alot more grain and friuts and veggies. Will a vegetarian diet work?
I just recently became a vegetarian. I think it's been two or three months now? Something along those lines; but I didn't do it for the purpose of losing weight. I've just been wanting to become one and finally built up the will power to do so. However, I can say that I have lost a good 8-10 pounds by becoming vegetarian. And sure, you can lose weight too! But substitute the meat with something like fried vegetables or something. Just stick to an all veggie/fruit/dairy diet, and you should be good. Skip out on the junk food. Of course, nothings going to happen if you eat a few potatoe chips once in a while, but in general, just keep the junk food to a minimum. Instead, snack on granola bars, wheat thins, wheat crackers with low fat cheese, veggies with dip, etc. Cereal also makes a good snack. Opt for cereals with more fiber and not that much sugar.
And make sure you do have something to eat in lunch at school. You don't want to starve. Starving does nothing except make you put on more weight than before. But I'm sure you know that. :)
So anyways, sure, you might lose some pounds, and you might not. Depends on how you change your diet around to find substitutes for the meat. Eat ALOT of protein, though. Especially eggs. Nuts are also great. Eat a handful of peanuts or almonds, and you're good to go.
So good luck!
From what I believe going on a vegeterian diet will enable you to lose excess pounds and make you healthier in the process. Will a vegetarian diet work?
Vegetarian diets can help you loose weight,if you manage your food right. Like not just filling up on noodles and stuff. Try salads for lunch. Miso Soup is a delicious tofu soup that is really good. Rice and beans are good. But also make sure you're getting your iron and protein still.
because any meat contains some amount of fat that vegetables don't have. that means that if you eat only vegetable then you wont be getting the fat from the meat. Will a vegetarian diet work?
i do not agree with that, cause some vegetarian food are made of flour, it does not provide much nutritious to our body. Its actually depends on people, different people have different absorption of food they consume. Look at some of the vegetarian around us, they are also putting on weight. So this explain...
Not eating meat will not help you lose weight. In fact, beef is very good for dieting because it contains no carbohydrates. Just eat lean cuts.
Most people who go on Vegetarian diets lose some pounds, so I say go for it!
