Hey

Don't take vitamins. Vitamins don't work, they just give your bladder unnecessary burden. Vitamins don't work because they are nutrients taken out from foods. You need to eat the "complete" food that has the vitamins in it in order to absorb it.

In terms of becoming a vegetarian. The best way is to do it slowly. If you suddenly become a vegetarian like me, your body might not be able to handle it because it has to change it's system like 180 degrees in order to get used to the vegetarian diet, but after it has made its change, it's very worth it.

So what you want to do is...to start off by eating more fruits. Because being a vegetarian doesn't mean that you have to eat strictly vegetables. Tell you the truth, fruits are the healthiest things in the world, because they are the purest. Start with that, eat more fruits, clean your system up a bit. Then start to incorporate more vegetables than meat..slowly and slowly. Should take your body up to 6 months or more to get used to. Took me about a year though. What is a good way to start a vegetarian diet?
OK here we go. You asked the right person because my son is a vegetarian. Actually, he is a raw foodist. Eat fresh salads every day. Raw - Make them with fresh green lettuce, collards, carrots, kale, tomatoes red cabbage green peppers, broccoli, red onions. Chop everything up pretty good add vinagrette dressing and olive oil. I guarantee you - You will love the salad. Eat very little bread and pastas. Maybe you could try to make your own bread. Also take MSM, Google it and you'll be amazed at what it does for you. I know you are only 16 and growing and if you don't want to take them, then try them later in your 20's. Our family takes MSM, spirulina, and chlorella. These pills are amazing. Google them and you will get plenty of positive information on them. They are an algae and a superfood.

Also, eat lots of nuts and raisins. Try to eat organic. If your going to do all this stuff then go for it, and go organic. It may cost a bit more but you have to ask yourself. "Am I worth it"? Hell, yes you are!!!!

One other thing, drink juices and eat fruits but don't overdo the fruits because there are a lot of sugars in fruits. Stay away from the corn syrup and the high fructose corn syrups. Read the labels. OK?

Stay away from the processed foods like McD junk foods potato chips etc etc etc You know what I am talking about. You will feel so much better if you do as I am telling you. Good Luck and I hope I helped.

Take care
Eat a wide variety of nuts, fruits, veggies, legumes and grains and as for the vitamins, you need all of them but you can get them from a properly planned and balanced diet. What is a good way to start a vegetarian diet?
Think of the stuff you'll be missing by not eating meat. The main things are protein, iron and zinc. You can get these from eating nuts, green vegetables and other things.
I just stopped eating meat. Take an iron vitamin supplement and you will be fine. It will be easier for you as you have a mother to support you :D
Don't eat meat ^_^

It's seriously that easy if you have the motivation.

I went vegan just because I read a book

and it wasn't hard in the least.
