Is it safe to raise my child on a vegetarian diet?

My daughter is only a few months old, but I don't want her to eat meet until she can make up her own mind about the issue. Is this safe? I'd like to read more about this and to hear your stories. Is it safe to raise my child on a vegetarian diet?
In all reality, it's a proven fact that a vegetarian diet is healthier than a meat eating one if done correctly. My two children are both being raised vegetarian until they can make an educated decision for themselves. They are both very healthy and our pediatrician more than approves:-)

I bought this book and it was very helpful to me: New Vegetarian Baby By Sharon Yntema, Christine H. Beard

Also, if you Google "vegetarian baby" all sorts of very helpful sites come up.
If you do it correctly, it can be. A child needs a high caloric diet. This can easily be replicated with vegetables and nuts high in fat. Avocados are very high in calories, and they are very good for you.

Yes it is!
You need to talk to your doctor on this. A small child's body is just developing so you want to do what's best for her and not you Of course all vegitarians will tell you to just feed her greens but should you believe them or not' .
