Reduce your starches, sugars and junk food, specifically avoid the combo of starch and fat and all liquefied sugars.
Snacks could include puffed corn, rice cakes apples and carrot sticks. Especially if snacks have to be crunchy.Vegetarian diet?

Rice/pasta.
Quorn.
All of those are low in fat, and burn off easily.
Just remember, if you are vege and you are cutting things out, it's best to take vitamins as well So you don't get ill
And we dont want that now do we?
