Yes, I hate tofu too. When I was a vegetarian I tried it numerous times but just could not get the taste for it.

Recently I have been to a number of raw vegan talks and the last person I saw was Dr. Douglas Graham, author of the book “80 10 10”.

He suggested that many vegetarians appeared to be sickly looking or had weight issues because they consumed a lot of processed flour and refined sugar products (i.e.) bread, pasta, cakes, cola.

I know a number of vegetarians (including family members) who do indeed look sickly and have weight issues most of the time but I never understood why in the past.

I use to eat bread and pasta as fillers but I have hardly touched the stuff since introducing raw vegan into my life five months ago.

When I started eating raw in September I was an Australian size 18, last week I brought size 12.

It has been a slow weight loss for me because I love organic wine and organic chocolate, and consume a lot of both.

However, by eating a lot of organic raw vegetables and fruit, my health has improved, I have had more energy, clearer skin and because I an avoiding most processed foods, I have lost a lot of weight.

I normally try to eat raw for at least two meals a day, plus snacks. So maybe you could try introducing more raw fruit and raw vegetables into your everyday meals.

So like the others, I suggest you avoid or limit your intake of processed / refined foods.

Make good choices - if you want to eat pasta then eat wholegrain pasta. If you want to eat rice, then choose brown. Make your own homemade pasta, as you can control what goes in it and you will be consuming it fresh. Instead of having sugar in your coffee, have organic raw dark agave instead. Instead of buying processed juice, juice your own fruit and vegetables at home.

Include some of the Super Foods in your diet (i.e.) Spirulina or Chia seeds.

Stick to fresh and natural foods wherever possible.

Eat organic produce wherever possible.

Consume lots of greens. This is really easy to do when you consume greens in a green smoothie (GS have literally changed my life). The book “Green for Life” by Victoria Boutenko – will help you easily achieve this on a daily basis.

Drink 8 – 10 glasses of purified or filtered water a day.

A 20 - 30 minute walk everyday, plus some sort of weight bearing exercises. I cancelled my gym membership and exercise more now than I ever did at the gym.

A combination of these will contribute towards a healthy weight loss.
I am allergic to Soy,Dairy %26amp; Eggs so my diet has always been without those products.

Pasta is great if it is whole grain %26amp; the sauce is low fat. All such things need to be limited..eat more fresh raw %26amp; cooked Veggies.

Fruit salad, almonds, steamed veggies
Tofu isn't for everyone, but I wonder how you have had it? Plain it is well, plain. There are some great ways to cook it. If tofu isn't for you, try other things like soy protein-based "mock meats". Nate's makes some AMAZING "meat" balls that are 100% vegetarian and vegan, and offered in most grocery stores. There are also chicken substitutes. I've even seen "Tuno" which is a vegetarian tuna substitute. My personal favorite is called seitan, which is wheat gluten. I've marinated seitan according to Candle 79's cookbook and grilled it, and I'd swear it's steak! Much healthier than pasta :-)Vegetarian diet without tofu?
The more fresh fruits, vegetables, and greens the better.

Try to focus on eating more whole foods and less processed.
