What foods should I cut out and will I eventualy loose weight? Will I loose weight being on a healthy vegetarian diet?
On a *healthy* vegetarian, diet, most likely yes. But being vegetarian doesn't guarantee weight loss. I'd recommend counting calories for just a couple weeks or so just to see how much you should be eating.
Remember to aim for 8 fruit/vegetable servings and 8+ glasses of water. Aim for whole grains rather than refined grains and try to cut out as much processed food as possible. Will I loose weight being on a healthy vegetarian diet?
Cut out the things with the highest calories. In plants that is carbohydrates and oil. That does not translate to a low-carb diet, and they are quite dangerous. But it does mean things like limit the bread and eat more beans. That means use pinto over black beans, use northern beans instead of pinto and try to stick to soy, fava and Lima beans if possible. Chick peas as especially bad because of their high oil content.
What you want to do is limit your calorie intake and or raise your calorie use. Things like exercise will increase your calorie use. Also keep in mind good balanced protein intake as it is very detrimental t your body and brain to starve it for protein.
The basic idea is to use less then you eat. A pound of fat represents 3500 calories roughly. So if your maintenance calorie intake was 2500 and you ate a 1500 calorie a day diet it would take 3 to 4 days to loose a pound. Your body does not exactly work like that but if you follow some basic guidelines there is no reason you can not loose weight on a vegetarian diet.
But simply changing to a vegetarian diet will not automatically make you loose weight. Will I loose weight being on a healthy vegetarian diet?
cut out, or at least eat in moderation, junk food. you should know what foods are considered junk food and which aren't. eat plenty of fruits vegetables and vegetarian-friendly protein sources (like boca burgers, which are delicious)
if you eat healthy, you will lose weight
no, just eat a little larger portions, get enough protien and iron. if you get lots of fruits vegetables, beans, you will be healthy and not worry about ur weight, unless ur already overweight
