How long does it take for your body to get used to the vegetarian diet?

I am now vegetarian, and I want to know how long it takes for your body to get used to not eating meat.

I am leaving home for camp, and I don't want to take risks of possibilities of eating meat again, but I also want to not get hungry on hikes.

By this I mean, how long does it take to get to the point where if you eat meat again after being vegetarian, you feel sick? How long does it take for your body to get used to the vegetarian diet?
I gave up soda (aspartame), caffeine, meat, eggs, sugar, refined carbs, and milk. I gave up excess saturated fats from vegetable sources as well.

I was sick for about 3 days, with the first day being the worst. After about a week, I could feel significantly better. At that point, it's ideal to begin an aerobic exercise program, which was another boost to my feeling of well being.

Make sure to eat a balanced diet with protein sources (beans, brown rice, whole grains). Include leafy vegetables, vegetables, fruits. Get sunshine for vitamin D and get lots of sleep (8-9 hours). Avoid commercial drinks (including juices). Drink water. Eat raw fruit instead of juices. The fruit contains fiber, commercial products contain chemicals and over process what was at one point foods.

It doesn't take long to feel the results (about one week). You will need to push through the first few uncomfortable days. After a few weeks, blood work will show a significant improvement.

DO NOT TAKE COMMERICAL PSEUDO FOOD LIKE PRODUCTS ON YOUR CAMPING TRIP. You are better off taking apples, orange, pears, a small quantity of nuts, whole grains, carrot sticks, celery, and if you can find it, a healthy bread. Containers of beans/chili prepared from dry beans is good for protein.
You won't get sick sick. You might have an upset stomach for awhile or need to take an Imodium AD or something once or twice, but you don't throw up or need to lay down or get a fever or anything.

I was a yoyo for years...eating meat, vegetarian, vegan, eating meat, vegan, began eating animal products again...etc.

I was never sick. How long does it take for your body to get used to the vegetarian diet?
I don't think it makes any difference. But surely meat products are not really hiking food? Most people would take cereal bars, dried fruit etc?

As for meals back at base camp I am sure vegetarians will be catered for as long as you let them know in advance that you don't eat meat.

Enjoy your camping
It depends on the person. For me I was able to become vegetarian in an instant, and I never got sick. For some people it takes..weeks, months, maybe even years. For me it would have been the next day, but like I said it depends on the person and their diet. How long does it take for your body to get used to the vegetarian diet?
forever
i don't think it gets 2 that point
