Vegetarian diet?

okay ive always had a problem with weight and with meat. i was thinking about switching to a vegetarian diet. do you think i could lose 60 lbs by july by switching to a vegetarian diet?

thanks %26lt;3Vegetarian diet?
Yes I think switching to the Vegan version of Vegetarian you absolutely could. I used to be an overweight semi vegetarian (I had some white meat), then I was a Vegetarian (no meat but some dairy and eggs), but I didn't lose much weight, I still binged on the comfort foods that I love. I turned Vegan for ethical reasons more than weight reasons but I ended up losing a lot of weight. Being Vegan, well it's very hard to be a fat Vegan unless you get hooked on the amazing Vegan desserts and just eat say, fries and things like that. Pamela Anderson is a Vegan, also Natalie Portman and Carrie Underwood. I personally know a LOT of vegans and they look great! The exception is the few who are lazy and don't really watch what they eat at all, but that goes for any style of eating. As long as you do it properly (no dairy meat or eggs), so that you are cutting out lots of gross animal fat, you will be fine :) Check out the book "Skinny ******" (I wrote ********* and it was bleeped!) It's a Great little book written by two gorgeous thin women who know what they're talking about! I pretty much followed that but still love my diet sodas so igored their advice for that (it's all about balance!). You will feel so much healthier too! I had stacks of energy when I switched to Vegan. I lost stacks of weight fast and felt so much better in general. It is definately worth it. To keep you motivated, check out the links below. Including my answer to someone else about becoming vegetarian which is much better than this one (or can I just cut and paste my other answer?).

Also after a short time you start to just feel better emotionally as well because you know you are not consuming one living thing that was harmed for your happiness. I fell off the bandwagon about a month ago and put on weight and want to get back into it so if you would like a 'veggie weightloss buddy' lol then email me if you want and we can keep each other motivated :)

If it's the only thing you do, check out Skinny ***** :)

Edited to add: Sorry for all the rambling sentences! I have edited this a few times due to it being too long and now I think I make less sense than before!
"The broccoli barometer" You'll do better with a kilojoule-controlled, low fat diet that allows for fruits, vegetables and complex carbs. On the other hand, If you'd rather give up french fries or rice than beef, pick a low-carb option Follows these rules: Eat breakfast, Eat kilojoule-aware,mederately low-fat diet that features complex carbs, get plenty of exercise at moderate intensity. Go for walk!, Self-monitor through frequent weigh-ins anbd keep a food and exercise diary.Vegetarian diet?
Yes! But lay off the beans and exercise too.
I think that you will have a hard time doing so .I decided to go vegy once and I only lasted about 2 1/2 weeks and went meat crazy.Vegetarian diet?
If you really want to lose the weight, then cut out all the crap and go vegan. i follow a diet of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains- and lots of green smoothies (blends of ice, fruits, and a few greens, such as raw spinach *soymilk optional*). keep fatty foods (such as avocados, white potatoes, and nuts) to a minumim, drink plenty of water, take multi-vitamins, and get some exercise in every day, and you are sure to reach your goal and feel amaaazzzing.

best of luck

Well

In 3 weeks, I lost 20 pounds.

So I think that you could.

But I kinda got a bit dizzy

Vegetarians rule

lol
Not by switching diet alone, but also by changing your eating pattern. If you lessen your portions bit by bit, and only eat til you no longer feel hungry, drink water instead of sodas (not implying you do that) and drink _after_ or _before_ the meal, you will change your metabolism and start losing weight.

A good thing by switching to vegetarianism is that your cholesterol values will improve, and many experience a better blood flow in their body, because their blood can take up more oxygen when the blood pressure sinks. Also, most vegetables and vegetarian products are _very_ low on fat.
i'm a vegetarian (past 3 years!!!)...i dont do it to loose weight, just save the animals lol...but i have lost a little weight...but its not drastic.
more vegetables is good for you, but if you want to lose weight be sure to also watch your intake of bread and cheeses
hmm.. I dont know about 60. But I know in certain cases people have lost 5 10 and even 15 pounds.
idk about 60.... it depends on how many of those veggies you eat....
you don't have to go completely vegetarian, just don't eat red meat. stick to lean meat, i.e. chicken and fish and lots of vegetables, stop eating fast food, drink lots of water and EXERCISE! A healthy amount of weight to lose is 2-3lbs per week...so that would be about 60lbs by the end of july....good luck!
depending on what weight you are at now, how many calories you eat, etc. you could very well lose that much.

just cut down your portions, eat only chicken and fish [low in fat] goodluck
Absolutely yes. Just be careful and watch what you eat. At the same time since you've been eating meat all your life, there might be withdrawal symptoms.

Daily exercise is a must, no matter what.

Good luck to you.
Im not really sure, it just depends. I'm a vegitarian and I didnt lose anything when I swiched. I hope this helps
no vegetarian diets don't help, in my experience. i was one for five years, and a month after i stopped, i lost a lot of weight. a lot of vegetarians eat a lot of carbs and fats to replace their bodies' natural need for meat, so it actually can cause weight gain. just be careful what you eat; i don't think you need to be so restrictive on your diet.
60 may be pushing it, I would look at a different type of diet though because vegetarian is not truly healthy unless you take the proper supplements to make up for the protein you are not getting from your diet. I'm a nursing student, so from my experience the best way to go is to eat healthier (not cut meat out or any other essential), and possibly cut down your portions. Try preparing healthy snacks, veggies cut up, fruits around the house, yogurt etc. Or try to change your ice cream to sherbert, or try the 100 calorie packs. Good luck!
