First of all your INR should NOT be dropping that low if you had a mechanical valve. Hopefully your doctor upped your warfarin. Here's how you keep INR 2-3: Take Warfarin!!! That's the only way!!

As for being vegetarian, vegetables containing vitamin K will make your INR go lower. You can certainly eat vegetables but you need to eat a consistent amount daily, whether it's a lot or a little doesn't matter. Then your doctor can adjust your doses of warfarin as needed to keep your INR in the therapeutic range. Is there anybody who can suggest me a vegetarian diet while i am taking warfarin and my INR is 1.63?
if warfarin fail to raise your INR to 2 or more, you should reconsider to increase the dose gradualy untill max dose of 12 - or maximum 15 mg, daily in the same time, if this fails to raise your INR, you should consider to shift to another medication like heparin injection, or there is a new drug
