First off, is is over-active Thyroid? If so, try going Vegan. Vegan diets consist of no meat, and no dairy. They are healthy however, sort of expensive to maintain. Vegetarian diets are both healthy and cheap. If you go Vegetarian, you can substitute in Tofu meat (Fake-on, Tofurky, no-bull, etc.) You should avoid meat and fish if you want to maintain a vegetarian life-style. Try the Accidental Vegan, or No Wheat, Meat or Gluten. Both are very good and contain extremely healthy recipes, which are both inexpensive, and delicious. Good luck, and hope this helps! Also one more thing, eating more protein may decrease the effects of it, and will most definetly give you more energy. Mushrooms, beans, adn eggs have a ton of protein, adn are all vegetarain. Also one more thing in an egg you need the yolk to digest the proteins in the whites. Can you recommend a good vegetarian diet for thyroid patients?

Seaweeds, nori(suhi wrapper) and kelps are best source of iodine which can prevent goiter.

Carrageenan which oftenly used in vegetaran dishes notably vegan sausage also contains iodine.

Agar-agar which is used as gelatin substitute is also a good source of iodine.

Soybeans, Tofu and Spinach may contain small amounts of goitrogens but they are also excellent source of iodine and essential nutrients.

Since Iodine is a mineral, it is stable in cooking but draining foods may reduce iodine content of food.
These are all great questions for Google, but I will suggest that you add loads of seaweed into your diet. You can get smaller, snack-size seaweed and there are even seaweed snacks that you can try, as well as seaweed salad (make your own, prepared stuff has jellyfish in it). Why seaweed? Very high in iodine, a chief component of thyroid hormone. Can you recommend a good vegetarian diet for thyroid patients?
coconut oil is good for the thyroid because of the medium chain fatty acids. 3 brazil nuts a day. 30 mg of zinc and 1 mg of copper to prevent deficiency. i am assuming you are hypothyroid.
