What to eat on a vegetarian diet?

i'm a vegetarian so no meat/fish, but i can eat dairy products (milk, cheese, eggs etc) i want to go on a diet and completely cut out junk food. i want to lose 60 pounds. i was planning on just eating fruits but i decided i'd probably get bored of that fast lol. so what are foods i can eat to help me lose weight? thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!What to eat on a vegetarian diet?
Hey, The key is to ensure you stick to natural, healthy foods as much as possible. Things like vegetables, grains (eg rice), beans, potatoes, fruit, nuts and cereals.



Try to get a good balance of complex carbs, protein, good fats, fruit and vegetables. In fact ideally each meal should have a portion of complex carbs, one of protein and one of either fruit or vegetables. Add in a couple of nutritious snacks like almonds or dates and you have a perfectly balanced diet.



I honestly think if you stick mainly to wholefoods then you can't go far wrong.



In terms of exercise, try to do at least half an hour of activity per day. If you don't have access to a gym then things like jogging and work-out DVDs are a good option.



Try to lose no more than 2 lbs a week. Losing more than this means you are less likely to be losing actual fat, and are less likely to keep the weight off in the long run.

It's less about what you eat and more about the balance between intake and calories burned. If you're limiting your diet, consider signing up for an app or website that allows you to track what you eat and how much you exercise. You can thus monitor your intake of vitamins and other nutrients to make sure you're not going to do damage to your health while trying to slim down. There are a ton of sites like this, but sparkpeople.com is a popular one. A big mistake dieting vegans and vegetarians make is to cut out sources of protein. Particularly if you're increasing your exercise habits, this pretty much dooms you to fail on your diet because of how tired and unsatisfied you'll feel.

Don't just eat fruit- you could get allergic to something you eat to much of and your body could actual gain weight if you don't eat a balanced diet. There are many products and meal recipes out there for vegetarians now, just google healthy vegetarian recipes- they are so many. Eat meals that have a variety of colors- like if you have a salad for a meal mix some veggies or fruits in them, and even some nuts (so you get all the proteins you need), and try making your own salad dressing- lemon juice maybe.. Jesus... 60 pounds is a lot. And only fruit would probably kill you haha.

Anyway, cut out the dairy products, that'll make you lose weight like you would not believe! Eat all the fruits and vegetables and carbs and nuts and seeds you want! But like, cheese... Cheese is bad. The weight is dropping off of me since I became vegan and stopped eating dairy and I like, live off of carbs and veggies. Not saying you should be vegan, but it's just validating the dairy bit.

Focus on vegetables. Avoid refined white grains, junk food, things with lots of sugar, and cheese.



Eat a lot of beans.



Trying to lose 60 pounds by just eating fruit isn't healthy.
