What are some easy ways to incorporate protein into a vegetarian diet?

I recently became vegetarian and I'm finding that I can't stay full. What are some nutritious snacks I can eat that will keep me full longer? What are some easy ways to incorporate protein into a vegetarian diet?

That should answer most of your questions. In short, as long as you are actually eating enough calories you should still have no problem getting protein, especially since you can drink milk and eat other milk products as a vegetarian. If you actually are short on protein I'd be more worried about you either only eating junk food, or not getting enough calories since you would need to be eating very little not to reach your protein needs. Someone else mentioned only getting 300 calories for a meal, which is going to result in your calorie intake being too low even if your recommended intake was something like 1500 calories (which is already lower than what most people need).

Protein is not restricted only meat. However, you do need to make sure you are getting enough B-vitamins, especially B-12. Many people are also already iron deficient, so for a girl you need to take care that you are getting enough iron as well. Use the site I posted in the answer I posted to find out where you stand and how close you are to your recommended intake.
You can easily make protein-stuffed spaghetti sauce by chopping about 8oz mushrooms, a pinch of basil, and 1 tsp garlic in a food processor. Then add 2 cans of diced tomatoes and whatever pasta you like. It tastes better than regular sauce, and the mushrooms add a lot of protein. I found the recipe in a vegetarian magazine, and I'm sure there were a few more ingredients, but it tastes really good like this too.

Also, try Morningstar veggie burgers and meat-imitation products. I compared the nutrition facts with my roommate's real burgers and the veg ones had more protein. There is a brand of delicious yogurt called Chobani; each cup of it has 14g of protein (see stores that sell it here: http://www.chobani.com/products/stores).What are some easy ways to incorporate protein into a vegetarian diet?
well, if you're not allergic to nuts, try eating trail mix or keeping bowls of cashews and pecans or whatever you like around your house.

if, like me, you are allergic to nuts, try eating beans. You can easily make vegetarian chili and it's awesome and filling. try eating fried beans over rice or pasta. If you really don't like beans and nuts, there are protein pills you can take and you can use those calories on starches.

ps. i also like baked potatoes.
Vegetarians rarely should need to take supplements for extra protein. We get an adequate amount through just vegetables themselves. Also, women on average only need about 40g of protein a day. Eat a morningstar veggie burger and you're almost halfway there!

My favorite vegetarian snacks are:

toast with avocado

yogurt

hummus with chips or veggies (think carrots to dip)

tiny salad (maybe just eat spinach...haha just spinach)

half a grilled cheese

half an apple or other assorted fruits

light, no butter popcorn

those little cookie bunnies from Annie's, however I try to refrain from buying those too often :)

Hope this helps! What are some easy ways to incorporate protein into a vegetarian diet?
I love veggie burgers. I get the soy ones, not the ones with hunks of onions in them. Also soy nuggets. The burgers and nuggets usually have eight to twenty grams of protien in them. Also peanut butter and yogurt. You said vegetarian, so I'm assuming you're not vegan and can eat dairy.
I find these bars to be quite filling. I sometimes use it as a meal replacement. It has 14 g. protein in it. A bit high in calories (300)

It is a pricey for a bar but totally worth the money. In general when you become vegetarian you will never feel full the way you do when you are eating meat. You will digest vegetarian meals very easily because our bodies are not made to digest meat.

You can also make nice smoothies with rice protein/soy protein, using soy milk.... It can give you a good amount of protein.
Any Fish, Any nuts, Special k protein bars are good and filling too (they have chocolate ones). Peanut butter and jelly samiches. The peanut buy has nuts in it(protein), and the jelly is healthy and if its not crappy kind, can give you energy
nuts, peanut butter, beans (soy, black, etc.), eggs if you still eat them, egg plant, any of the vegetarian products from boca, morning star, or smart choice (can be found at any local grocery store),
CASHEWS, PEANUTS, PECANS, WALNUTS, PISTACHIOS - YUM
Oats, Milk Protein food, Corn Flakes with Milk %26amp; Honey etc.,
eat nuts and fruit that helped me.
Grow up. Eat properly.
