Thats awesome, I am a vegan and its def easy when I prepare food for myself.

You can def get enough protein in your diet; the average American eats 2x more protein than they should..... shows how much this country relies heavily on old bruised meat or poultry or fish. Hah.

You can get protein from...

-nuts

-beans

-vegetables

-rice

-bread

-soy milk, oat milk , hemp milk, rice milk...

-chocolate (dark)

-soy protein shakes (so yummy)

-tofu

-veggie burgers

Basically anything!

Before I became vegetarian i was.... 150 at 5'5 being 19 years old and my Body fat I am sure was over 24 percent which is pretty unhealthy.

Im 21 now, 134 at my highest (winter pounds gotta keep warm!) and 18 percent body fat. Im an athlete so I def need to prepare my own meals and make sure I have protein in my body. I started seeing a weight gain and freaked out but realized muscle weighs more than fat so if I feel better when I eat more then thats fine. THAT will take you a while to get used too though since many of us are self conscious.

Anyways, for vitamins though I take biotin which strengthens my hair, nails and face (clears up) and I take B12 which is only found in animals.I take a garlic pill here and don't really need other vitamins. Oh, also, take acidophiles (they are strawberry flavored wafers for vegetarians/vegans) helps with your digestive system. I rarely eat anything with oils and fats to begin with except for nuts so I pop about 3 a day (3 meals) and am fine. Anyways best of luck. Its really awesome but if you are goin to be a vegetarian start reading the back of food products and whenever your out at a food joint ask them if they is any animal stock that is made with .... for example lentil soup. Its really weird that places do it but whatever.Vegetarian diet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
there are many different types of vegetarians.

Lacto鈥搊vo vegetarians do not eat meat but do eat eggs and dairy products (ovo means eggs and lacto means dairy).

For protien EAT lots of beans and colorful fruits and vegis. Also they sell protien shakes at walmart or your local grocery store.
Adopting a healthy vegetarian diet isn't just taking meat off your plate and eating what's left. You need to take extra steps to ensure you're meeting your daily nutritional needs. A well-balanced vegetarian diet consists mostly of plant-based foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seedsVegetarian diet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
My first suggestion would be to go to the Mayo Clinic site and see the advice that they have. Medically sound and totally reliable.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/vegetar鈥?/a>

At that page, you will see along the side the answer to every one of your questions, meal plans, proper choices to have a healthy well balanced diet.

If your not sure about what you are doing, I would suggest going to a good nutritionist/dietician to help you better understand the choice that you are wanting to make. They can help you with the changes that you will need to make, choices of foods, what to cook and recipes, suggestions for your shopping list. Doctor normally had to refer you for insurance reasons, so may have to talk to them first. There is nothing wrong with getting one on one help from a person that has done study in the area of nutrition.

To be healthy, a person has to eat a healthy diet and have moderate exercise. Yes, you can be healthy as a vegetarian.
