Vegetarian diet and meat has same substances?

Human beings do not need to eat meat in order to maintain good health because they can get all their food needs from meatless products and meatless substances. A vegetarian diet is as healthy as a diet containing meat. Argue for or against the opinion above.Vegetarian diet and meat has same substances?
No, vegetarian and meat diets do NOT havethe same substances. However, I agree that humans can get adequate nutrition without eating meat. In fact some foods, such as beans and rice, for example, when comined togther make the perfect complete protein, with all the necessary amino acids, etc. for healthy living.



My mother was told by her doctors that if she didn't start eating meat, she would die within 2 years. She lived over 30 years longer than they predicted and she never ate meat.
Yeah, you can live perfectly healthily as a vegetarian providing you make sure you still eat plenty of protein and don't subsist on carbohydrate alone. It's so much easier anyway now with the advent of Quorn - mmmmm, Quorn...Other than that though I eat plenty of tofu, beans, nuts etc. which all keep me ticking over. Plus you do tend to eat a lot more fruit and veg anyway (well, at least that's what I've found)Vegetarian diet and meat has same substances?
i agree!! we don't need meat in order to live. we could even get healthier when we don't eat meat. vegans can live 10 years longer than people who eat meat. it's also good in the digestive system. be a VEGAN--NOW!

If following a strict vegetarian diet, it's difficult to gather the adequate amounts of protein required by the human body. Meat (including poultry and fish) is the most important source of protein in the human diet.

I was vegetarian for 10 years and then I went to the doc about being tired all the time and she said I was lacking B12 (which is in animal) and protein, so she suggested I try to eat fish or chicken. Sometimes, not enough of any one thing in a diet will have consequences later on. It's best to go by what your body needs most. Apparently, I needed lots of protein and B12 for a disease I have. A vegetarian diet is not good for everyone.
It is not hard to get enough protein as someone stated here. Protein is almost in everything and on average, Americans eat way too much of it. Protein is one of the easiest nutrients to get in a vegetarian diet.



Some nutrients are harder to come by in a vegetarian diet but there are many vegetarian supplements on the market now.
the only way a veggie/vegan diet is not beneficial to health is if you do not research it or take care of yourself.



A vit B12 supplement or Marmite/veggie mite will give plenty of B12 and protein is made up of amino acids which can be balenced by eating pulses and grains or veggies and nuts togethers.



it might sound stressful but a vegan diet is a lot easier to make healthy and this mythical healthy meat is only if you eat organic fresh meat and milk and eggs. Otherwise factory farming and processing takes any nutritional benefits out. Also the negative effects of meat are much greater than vegan food and a healthy vegan diet is very beneficial to your health in other ways such as preventing cancer and heart disease
Meat eaters will say a vegetarian diet is unhealthy only because they cant grasp the concept. I am a healthy vegan because I know how to eat properly and my diet contains everything I need. So I agree with you completely.
I would have to agree to the fact that we could live without eating animals.



BUT, and there is a but, I would say we need fish and seafoods for their excelent saturated fatty acids (salmon, tuna, mackerel) for a better brain and sexual function.
