im not a strict vegetarian, i do eat meat occasionally. but generally i prefer to stick to veggie food. ive been told i need plenty protien in my diet, how can i do this? How can i get protien into a vegetarian diet?
There's this amazing thing called food, and when you eat it, you get protein along with other essential nutrients (and sometimes you get crap that you don't want or need: cholesterol, saturated fat, trans fat, sodium, etc.).

And you're not any kind of vegetarian if you ever eat meat knowingly and willingly; even if its only occasionally.
You aren't a vegetarian if you eat meat sometimes, and also to one of the people above, if you eat fish you are classed as a pescatarian. But like everybody else said eggs are a good one, and quorn :)How can i get protien into a vegetarian diet?
I wouldn't worry about the people saying you're not a REAL vegetarian, so what?

Others have listed some vegetarian options for protein, but if you eat meat anyway that's also a good source.
eggs, eggs, eggs and more eggs. There are so many things you can do with them... boil, poach, omelettes, meringues

nuts, Quorn is also an excellent sourceHow can i get protien into a vegetarian diet?

It's very simple. Eat.

Eating will allow you to consume all the protein you need.
veggie protein powder
Lentils

A simple cup of lentil soup or curry at any meal will handle your protein.
Protein is a bit tricky on a vegetarian diet. Protein is made up of amino acids. Your body makes some of those amino acids; the rest must come from your diet. Eggs, meat, and dairy products contain all the amino acids needed for complete protein.

Most veggies only contain some (or weak versions) of those amino acids. That's why people tell you to be careful about protein.

As a vegetarian, you need to eat a wide variety of veggies every day so your body can combine the different amino acids each one contains into the complete protein it needs. For example, beans and rice make up complete proteins.

The protein in soy is comparable to protein in meat, eggs and dairy products. But soy has some questionable effects on your health. It's been tied to early puberty in girls, low testosterone in men and thyroid disease. If you don't have thyroid disease or a family history of it, some soy is fine. You'll probably be surprised at how much soy you're eating right now. It's widely used as fillers in breads, pastries, vegetable oils, etc. So be careful if you're thinking of adding tofu, fake meats made from soy, soy cereal, etc., to your diet. Health agencies in France, Israel and some other countries have issued warnings about soy consumption to their citizens.

Remember, depending on your age and gender, you'll need about 45 grams of protein a day. Probably more if you're an active teenager. Good luck....
