It's becoming prohibitively expensive to get kosher meat, so to avoid that and the whole problem of mixing meat and milk, I've decided to become a vegetarian. How do I plan a proper vegetarian diet?
Could you tell me what else is prohibited? I'm assuming you can mix other protein sources with dairy/cheese etc, it's just animal flesh you can't combine. Is this correct? If it is then I would say to do some good research vegsource.com as are many other vegetarian and vegan websites. You want to eat as much whole grains, beans, legumes etc., fresh fruits and vegetables as possible. I know that you have to watch your eggs due to blood being in them so you may need to prepare egg dishes yourself or buy kosher where you can in terms of products containing eggs. I would steer clear of processed foods as much as you can. Sometimes you can't help it but buy something like Amy's Organics if you need to buy processed. These are the first things I would suggest and read, read, read. How do I plan a proper vegetarian diet?
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables so you get all your nutrition and eat Whole Wheat bread, it gives you iron and other vitamins. If you eat oatmeal it gives you other daily nutrition value. Good Luck, hope it helps! How do I plan a proper vegetarian diet?
Most raw diets are vegetarian. Find a good book from Amazon or one of the book stores and stick to it.
Good luck
