I dont eat sweets or salt.
I do like to eat meat but I want to lose weight in a healthy way.
It seems like my body feels better when I go on vegetarian diets, so will it help me lose weight as well? Will going on a vegetarian diet help me lose weight and get healthy?
Being a vegetarian does make you healthier, and can help you lose weight. It has been proven that if you are a vegetarian you have a lower chance of heart disease and cancer, and many others. Vegetarian diets tend to be lower in calories and higher in fiber, making you feel full on fewer calories. They can definitely help you shed unwanted pounds when done correctly.
Good luck on whatever you decide to do :)
There are plenty of lean meats to eat.
Meat doesn't cause weight gain. A well-rounded diet and exercise will help you lose weight.
Many 'vegetarians' cut out meat thinking they will lose weight, but don't cut out the junk food, high calorie items like butter and cheese. Some of them are very picky, don't eat vegetables and can't figure out why the pounds are not dropping off like rocks.
It's because meat didn't contribute that much of a significant calorie load even if they are McDonald's every day. They didn't give up the fried stuff, bready stuff etc.
Salt has recently been shown to not be such a big concern for healthy people. Even people on restricted diets can ease up on their intake. Will going on a vegetarian diet help me lose weight and get healthy?
A vegetarian diet guarantees nothing. If you go from eating lots of low fat low cal animal flesh to eating nothing but cheese pizza and Cookie Crisp, you have the potential to gain weight.
Where a vegetarian diet IS good is that fruits and veggies often offer lots of fill for little calories.
Remember, the rule to losing weight is to take in fewer calories than you burn off. One pound is roughly 3500 calories. So, start tracking your calorie intake vs. expenditure.
Not necessarily. There are many overweight vegetarians and vegans around. You'll lose weight if you eat fewer calories than you burn. Many vegetarian foods (rice, pasta, veggies) are high in carbs. Carbs turn to sugar quickly in your stomach. If you're not active enough to burn that sugar up, it gets stored as fat. Animal proteins (meat, eggs, dairy products) tend to stay in your stomach longer, break down slower and are used by your body to build muscle.

If you like meat then dont go vegetarian! It is completely healthy to eat lean meats while incorporating more fruits and veggies into your diet. Healthy preparation of foods is also important. I do diet plans for free- email me Nutrition.ninja10@gmail.com and i can go into more detail.
It will, but you can still eat turkey and fish. They are packed with more protein than fat.
only if you eat fewer calories than you burn.
No matter what you eat, thats how it works.
possible, but you will lose a lot of your muscle tone...
