How do I have a balanced vegetarian diet on a low budget?

My parents aren't supportive of my diet, or at least they won't go out of their way on the grocery list. So how do I have a balanced diet on basic stuff? will fruit and dairy products work? How do I have a balanced vegetarian diet on a low budget?
Black beans have lots of protein and are very inexpensive. Salads with some lot-fat dressing, add some nuts and cheese on top -- can be done cheaply.

Of course, pastas and rice are cheap -- toss with your favourite in season veggies and you have an easy dinner! How do I have a balanced vegetarian diet on a low budget?
I second what the previous poster said.

I'm on a very tight budget and being a vegan has actually reduced the amount of money I spend on groceries ...and I have to feed a family of four (all vegan).

Beans are extremely cheap-so are rice, bread and tortillas.Look for sales on vegetables and fruit. Most dairy is not really that cheap and you shouldn't eat too much of it anyway, but you can get yogurt pretty cheap. Surely if you research what's on sale and ask your folks to pick up certain items they will do that much.
Vegetarian food doesn't have to be expensive. Fresh or frozen vegetables, rice or other grains, beans, nuts, fruit, tofu...not all that expensive.
