How did you get started as a vegetarian? How do you know your diet is safe?

I used to love meat, but for the past couple years or so I just cringe whenever I eat it. I still like seafood, but I get sick to my stomach thinking about chicken or pork. Even the juiciest steak doesn't really sound that appetizing anymore. By the way, I'm not an animal sympathizer, it just seems gross eating them.

Any help on keeping a healthy vegetarian-like diet would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)How did you get started as a vegetarian? How do you know your diet is safe?
I'm vegan and I got started by doing research on diet for athletic performance. After studying nutrition, diet, biology, etc. I came to the conclusion that humans are not designed to consume animals. I took such stuff out of my diet and noticed vast improvements in my performance immediately. I just kept on studying, and the more I read, the more commonsense and obvious it all became. It was like a veil was removed from my eyes.

So, just start reading. The more you read, the easier it becomes to separate the bullsh*t from the truth.

You have people who write books either because they are complete morons and actually believe what they are saying, or they are smart and know how to manipulate the stupid and ignorant into helping them create a tidy profit out of their books, such as Atkins and The Zone and other crap like that. How did you get started as a vegetarian? Well, I'm not vegetarian! I LOVE MEAT! But if I was one I would eat the normal servings that are on a food pyramid. That don't involve eating meat of course! But as you know, meat contains protein, which your body needs badly to survive and to stay healthy! So eat protein bars on a regular daily basis! And just to be sure your diet is safe, consult a doctor or a nutritionist to make sure that, that sort of diet will work for you(: hope i helped! How did you get started as a vegetarian? there are no rules,i consume seafood but no other meats.

keep your produce as brightly colored as possible.

eat peanut butter,beans,soy and tofu.

drink lots of water and green tea.

consult a dr.,they may advise a vitamin regime.
